curated by Maximilian Pellizzari & Leonardo Cuccia In the solo exhibition ti odio, Siggi Hofer presents a new site-specific installation made out of paintings, objects, and text. Culturally connoted elements are combined together, while images are abstracted in the paintings by their geometric development into a grid system. With the work, the artist confronts us with familiar motifs, highlighting characters embedded in our communication systems, and ultimately questioning the political and social value of representation. Along the pictures, a series of painted text works delineate a discursive environment for a possible new interpretation of the subject matter.
